Brown, Plummer, Reilly, 4×4 Sparkle for UC at Marine Corps
Plummer ran a school freshman record and NJ #1 time in the 800
Elijah Brown, Myles Plummer, Conor Reilly and the 4×400-meter relay team all threw down strong performances for the Union Catholic boys track and field team at Saturday’s Marine Corp Holiday Classic at the 168th Street Armory in New York.
Brown, a junior, ran 49.60 to place fifth in the 400, the second fastest time by a NJ athlete this season, and split 49.77 on the fourth-place 4×400 that ran a NJ#2 3:25.00 to qualify for the New Balance National Championships.
Plummer broke his own school freshman record in the 800 by placing sixth in a NJ#1 1:58.74, and anchored the 4×400 in 51.17. Plummer’s 1:58.74 broke his school record of 1:59.71 that he ran at the Essex County Coaches Invit. on Dec. 14 at Ocean Breeze,
Reilly, senior, cleared 14-6 to finish third in the pole vault, and led off the 4×400 with a 52.30 carry in the 4×400. Reilly is currently ranked second in the N.J. in the pole vault with the 15-0 he made earlier this month.
Senior Elijah Abraham also had a strong meet for the Vikings by running 8.19 in the trials of the 55 hurdles and running a 51.74 led in the 4×400.
