UC Boys/Girls Place 2nd in Mixed Relay at NBIN
UC places second in mixed 4×400 relay to earn All-American at New Balance Nationals
NEW YORK – Union Catholic capped off a great weekend at the New Balance National Championships when the Vikings placed second in the first ever mixed 4×400-meter relay on Sunday to earn All-American honors at the New Balance Track and Field Center.
The Vikings foursome of Makay Johnson (50.9), Khamil Evans (56.5), Leena Morant (56.5), and Elijah Brown (48.7)) combined to run 3:33.22 to edge Bullis of Maryland, third in 3:33.24. Team War of Virginia won the race in 3:32.40.
The runner-up finish by Union Catholic gave the Vikings three All-American teams at the national meet. The boys 4×400 (fifth place) and the girls shuttle hurdles (sixth place) also earned All-American honors. A total of 12 UC athletes earned All-American status.
