UC Girls Win XC Conference Championship!
The Union Catholic cross-country teams celebrated Senior Day in memorable fashion as the boys and girls swept the Watchung Division titles at Thursday’s Union County Conference Championships at Oak Ridge Park in Clark.
On the girls side, Union Catholic, ranked No. 11 in the state, edged No. 10 Kent Place, 47-50.
UC went 3-8-10-12-14 and averaged 20:07, and Kent Place went 2-6-11-15-16 and averaged 20:05. The rematch at the county meet should be another great battle between these two powerhouses.
The top five runners for the Vikings were UC were junior Kaleigh Gunsiorowski, third in 19:01, junior Maameyaa Nyinah, eighth in 20:11, senior Jenna Keith,10th in a personal best 20;15, senior Abby Granrath, 12th in 20:32, and sophomore Leilani Gibson, 14th in 20:35.
