Coaches

Thank you for choosing to attend the Union Catholic Track & Field Invitational! Our meet is this SUNDAY, APRIL 21st beginning at 1:00pm (Teams may report as early as 11:30am). We hope you enjoy your time at UC! We will run the meet as fast as possible! There will be concessions available (bagels, pretzels, drinks, etc.) As of today, the weather looks solid for Sunday. If for any reason we need to cancel, I will send an email and post onwww.uctrack.com no later than 10:00am on Sunday morning.  Final Instructions are below.

Parking Options

The Parking Lot on the Left Side of Union Catholic
The Driveway in Front of Union Catholic
At 1:15pm – Parking will be available at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church across the street from UC.

Team Seating/Tents
All teams are asked to setup their tents in the parking lot on the gym side.
No tents or team setup will be permitted on the back driveway
The driveway needs to be clear for emergencies

Labels
Pre-Printed Labels will be provided to each team at the meet, once payment is received. There will be 3 pre-printed labels for each athlete on your team’s roster. Coaches will need to write the event on each label.

Coaches’ Meeting
There will be a brief Coaches’ Meeting at 12:45pm on the infield, next to the finish line tent. We ask that at least one coach from each team be at the meeting.

Heat Sizes

100m Fun Run – 15-20 per heat
200m – 1 Athlete per lane, 6 lanes. (Will Start at the 100m Start)
400m – No Lanes – 10-12 athletes per heat
800m – No Lanes – 12-15 athletes per heat
1600m – No Lanes – 12-15 athletes per heat
Sprint Medley Relay (4-1-1-2) – No Lanes – 8-12 teams per heat

Seeding Heats
Coaches please make your athletes aware of who you want to run in the faster heats. Also, you are welcome to come to the staging area to make the Clerk aware of which of your athletes you want seeded first.

Awards
-Medals will be placed into a bag for each team. At the end of the meet these bags will be distributed to a team representative.
-1st place and Runner-Up Trophies will be awarded at the end of the meet.

Additional Rules
-You may run 1st or 2nd graders in a higher division, if you feel they will be competitive
-Athletes can run in higher divisions, but cannot run in a lower division
-Girls can race in Boys relays, but boys cannot race in girls relays.
-Athletes are allowed any 3 events (The relay counts as one of these events)
-Relay Batons will be provided

 

FIELD EVENTS
Rules

Shot Put will be setup in Flights – 3 Throws , No Finals
Long Jump will be setup in Flights – 2 Jumps, No Finals
Javelin will not have Flights. Athletes will get 3 consecutive throws.
