Girls Win Union County XC Title! Boys 2nd!

The Girls Cross Country Team dominated the 5150 meter course at Warinanco Park and won their 2nd consecutive Union County Championship! The girls were led with a 2nd place finish by Amari Onque-Shabazz. Amari ran a UC Course Record time of 19:00.49. Rounding out the top 5 were Asia Johnson (3rd-19:27.06), Jerika Lufrano (5th-19:48.05 / UC Freshman Class Record), Tressa Novack (11th-20:20.76) and Megan McCabe (17th-20:36.03). Girls Scoring: 2, 3, 5, 10, 16 | Team Average: 19:50 (School Record)
The boys had a very strong performance, placing 2nd Overall. The Vikings were led by Brendan McCabe (16:40.85-4th), Justin Cadas (17:01.99-11th), Andre Rodriguez (17:22.62-18th), Trevor Garrity (17:38.15-27th) and Jimmy Perona (17:39.62-29th). The boys ran a very spirited race despite the absence of #1 man Nate Papachristos.
